Hydraulic Power Unit Refurb Program

Fluid System Components has developed a comprehensive “Power Unit Refurbishment Program” that allows customers to minimize their downtime and maximize cost-effectiveness.            

Hydraulic power units are an essential component used in a wide range of industries. Companies rely on these units to convert from one form of energy to another, and their constant use, sometimes in extreme conditions means they experience wear and tear. Over time units may experience decreased efficiency, malfunctions, or even complete breakdowns; all resulting in a loss of time and revenue for the company.

Saving Customers Time and Money

The FSC refurb program was designed with our customers in mind; allowing for a smooth transition from break down to start up. The first step is for a customer to connect with our service team, so they can begin the initial service process. Power unit refurbs can be completed at the customers facility, but often it is more economical for the customers to request an RGA (returns good authorization) and have the power unit shipped to an FSC location for service.

Once the unit is received by our location, the real magic begins! Our certified service technicians disassemble the pumps, manifolds, valve stacks, and valves. Each component is individually inspected, including seals, hoses, fittings, and gauges, and then tested for functionality, allowing the tech to identify the current issue, and to assess any future issues that could arise. To help minimize downtime and to keep costs as inexpensive as possible, we repair or re-use as many components as possible. Typically, this means a savings of almost 60% over the cost of a new hydraulic power unit. Items that are damaged beyond repair or are obsolete will have replacements quoted as part of the total cost to complete the refurb. Once approved by the customer, our techs get to work cleaning, resealing, and reassembling the units.

Power Unit Testing on Site or In-House

What sets our program apart is our ability to fully test every unit in-house prior to returning it. Utilizing our custom-built test-stands; each power unit is function tested for pressure, flow, and leak checked according to the same parameters of daily operation. No unit leaves FSC without verification of performance.
